The school leaders and teachers are competent, professional and overall determined to give their best. The school has a counselor and high school placement staff that are superb. They cover all subjects including art, music and a good variety of enrichment courses. The school is small but it feels complete. It's a CA Distinguished School with an API score in the 900's. KIPP LA Prep (part of KIPP LA Schools) is an amazing middle school. There are so many things that differentiate this school from a traditional public education and I am proud to be a KIPP parent! I hope this will NEVER happen again! Overall I want to end this with a positive note because KIPP overall is great. If only the school/teacher had notified the parents of this performance. As my child was up on stage her/his eyes glared the audience in hopes to see who came to see her/him perform but that excitement soon turned to hurt when she/he realized that no one was there. The only thing I have been unable to let go is the fact that I missed my child's first school performance.

On the California Standards Test, KIPP LA’s schools showed high levels of student proficiency across all grade levels and subjects. Results: The weighted API score for all students tested at KIPP LA Schools for the 2012-13 school year was 883, including an average elementary API score of 975.
